Rev. Jill Marie Hubbard-Smith, Lead Pastor

Jill was ordained as an elder in the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church in 1996, where she has served as the pastor of Lebanon UMC, Oldwick UMC, West Belmar UMC and Chatham UMC.

Jill has been a life-long United Methodist, growing up in faith communities in Virginia, Georgia, and New Jersey. Prior to ordination, Jill served in the youth and mission ministries at Bridgewater UMC. While attending Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ, Jill served as the Young Adult Coordinator for the Northern NJ Annual Conference, Assistant Site Director at Aldersgate Center, Minister of Visitation and Youth for Trinity UMC, Chaplain at Centenary College and Program Minister at Newton UMC. While attending Saint Paul School of Theology, Jill served as a Minister of Youth and Young Adults for Blue Ridge UMC in Kansas City, MO. Jill has also served a trauma chaplain and a hospice chaplain in Kansas City, MO.

Jill has served the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference as the Chairperson of the Commission for Camps, Conferences and Retreats; which is the board that oversees the camping ministry of Aldersgate Center in Swartswood, NJ and Pinelands Center of Mt. Misery in Browns Mills, NJ. Jill is currently serving on the Poverty Taskforce for our Annual Conference  and mentors new candidates for ministry.

Before hearing the call of ministry, Jill worked for Tiffany & Co. in New York and Parsippany, NJ. She also created a catering business entitled Hubbard’s Cupboard.

Jill is married to Garry Smith and together they have three children; Adam, Hannah, and Lydia.
